Me at Falls 3 After uploading my Mt. Balabag - Solo Climb Pics, Sir Vince Cent (http://deequixotic.blogspot.com/) commented that 4th and 5th falls are located above the 3rd falls. So tama nga ako sa paginterpret sa blog ni Ms. Akyatera Bundokera. Headed back sa Mt. Balagbag, this time I invited few of my friends. This time it's a quest to reach the 4th and 5th falls not much of a "pamumundok". Led the group and escorted them to the same route I took during my Solo Climb. This time I had some time to enjoy the mini falls, taking pictures at magbabad in a short span of time. The girls and Robbie seems to enjoy the trail, I saw smile and glee in their faces. We spend most of the time bathing at Falls 3, laughing.....enjoying the water.....photo shoot..... parang mga bata lang na nagtatampisaw sa tubig. I told the group about my intention of the said climb, it was more of a personal quest, my hunger to reach the 4th and 5th. The group agreed to join me with this crazy quest of mine (thanks!). I left the group for a while to look for the exact route.... Falls 1 and 2 : Series of Mini Falls Climbing Falls number 3 was quite difficult because it was slippery and the rocks were covered with moss.... and Fivefinger vibram.....seriously? hahahah was not a help at all. After reaching the top most portion of Falls number 3, one path leading to the left and one to the right and another falls ahead..... puzzled on where to go, which path to choose and no coin to toss...... I picked the one to the right. At the foot of this so called "4th Falls", I surveyed some possible route for climbing to see what was above it......successfully reached the upper deck and boom another falls ahead..... my guess was... 5th Falls... Hurried myself in going down 'til 3rd Falls and called the group's attention and narrate what I saw. Consensus was to proceed and attempt to finish the entire 5 falls quest, we then bid farewell to the 3rd Falls and started scrambling all the way up to 5th Falls..... Basa sa Falls 3 (click picture for larger view) I took the chance to climbed first and surveyed what's above "Falls 5" and saw a local. I asked her if the path ahead will lead to Veterans or to a village. She nod and asked "Sa falls ka dumaan? ang tapang mo naman" I smiled and asked the right direction, I need to follow the one on the right and it will lead me to a store (Veterans Village). Thanked her and retraced my route, The woman asked again "San ka punta?" "Balikan ko lang po mga kasama ko" I replied at napakamot nalang sya ng ulo. The group had difficulty climbing "Falls 5", the rock wall was covered with moss (thick moss) and some mud....a slight mishap happened and with luck we were able to pass "5th Falls" successfully. Exiting from the said store, I asked the bystanders if there are other falls in the area... few falls can be accessed however these falls are located beyond the mountains, we thanked the locals then off to Mt. Balagbag's Summit. Leading the pack, we were able to reach the Summit successfully using the same path during my Solo Climb. Off to "Falls 4" and "Falls 5" However, still puzzled if I my search was over.....and still doubting if the path from the left will lead me to the correct 4th and 5th Falls.......... according to Sir Vince Cent, 4th Falls offers the most difficult route to climb among the 5 Falls, yet during this quest.... 5th falls was..... This gives me 2 more reasons to revist Mt. Balagbag...... Batya Falls located on the opposite side of Veterans Village and that Path... Trail to Summit Shots (click picture for larger view)
