"All my bags are packed and I'm ready to go" Yes indeed, ready na ako para sa another major climb na to. To fight the cold temperature sa Pulag, I bought an Omni-Heat Columbia Jacket since it was design for cold weather and pair of gloves. I was with my StormChasers friends and 5 mountaineers from GameNest, 2 groups 1 Goal. It started with some mishap because walang nakabili ng ticket ng maaga, so we have an option na sumakay sa 3am na trip ng Victory Liner - Taft or magiging "Chance-Passengers". Good thing may Route ang Genesis Bus line. We met the rest of the group and our hired jeep sa Baguio around 7:00am, we ate the ever famous strawberry taho then off to Benguet. We took pictures muna sa may Indian Veiw Deck then nag breakfast Jang-Jang Eatery. While we were eating, looking outside the window, may napansin akong hanging bridge sa likod ng bahay. Out of curiosity, after eating I went out and crossed the long bridge. By the time na pabalik na ako, I saw the rest of the group approaching kaya ayun, natagalan kami dahil sa PhotoOps. Everyone is required na dumaan sa DENR for orientation. May kunting film viewing about the Mt. Pulag, its history and the Do's and Don'ts. Registration also takes place here, meron din silang mga souvenir items and also bago ko makalimotan, dito din ang pwede magpagawa ng certificate. (I forgot the fee). After everything were settled na, then balik na sa jeep then off to the Jump Off Point para sa Akiki. I think mga 2 hours din yun. with Chocobo My Climb Buddy This is it.... sa totoo lang from jump off point to the Visitor Center hiningal ako..... hahahaha hindi ko alam pero dahil siguro sa sobrang bigat ng bag ko tapos niratrat ko kaagad ang pagakyat. We had our lunch sa Visitor Center, may isang group then kami nakasabay. Doon din namin nasettle ang Guides and we even weigh our bags, wala lang napagtripan lang..... 15 kilos ang dala ko all throughout. Around 2:00pm we started the trek, wow few kilometers palang hingal na ako. I did some training, run few lapses prior sa climb na to pero sobra ang panay assault na trek. The group was divided into two lang, the Lead and the Tail. I was part of the Lead, kasama ko ang mga bagong kaibigan namin from GameNest, sina Mam Andrea and Mam Anj also isang Guide and Porter. Mountains up North has something to offer to all hikers and mountaineers. Mt. Mula sa Jump Off point, ang next water source is the Eddit River. We arrived earlier sa area so we planned na wag na muna magcamp dito since mahaba pa ang time, we'll push ourselves na sa Helipad nalang magcamp for the night. We savor muna the river, merong naligo may nagpicture picture while the rest pahinga na muna. While resting, nakikita pa namin ang ibang group na nauna sa amin, fight against the assault. (Note: walang water source sa Helipad, if you plan to camp doon siguradohing may enough water para sa sarili at para sa panluto) When everyone was ready na, turn naman namin makipagsapalaran sa WAGAS na assault all the way to Helipad. Yes, assault talaga ang trail. My 15 kilos bag was pulling me down, although my shoulders did not hurt pero yung waist ko ang parang bumibigay na. HELLipad ata to! kapagod ang trail.... Damas. Dumating na ang ibang kasamahan namin, I was already inside sa tent ko nagpapahinga pilit na binabawi ang lakas. Dinner came then lights out, hindi ko na namalayan if nag"socials" pa sila. I was already asleep. Shots from Eddet River to Helipad Early next day, we had our breakfast. Good thing nagkasya ang mga tubig namin for cooking. PhotoOps for a while then off to Marlboro...... Kung assault ang trail from Eddet to Helipad... Assault lang din naman ang Helipad to Marlboro... hahaha... at least this time nakarecharge na kaya medyo madali namin naakyat ang Marlboro, next water source is the right after Mossy Forest then Grassland..... sobrang init sa Grassland since walang puno dito at hindi eto literal na Grass, these are Dwarf Bamboos (Yushania niitakayamensis). Such nice fields to look at...... from here makikita mo na ang Summit ng Mt. Pulag. We had syempre our very own PhotoOps then continued the trek until marating ang Saddle, final destination for the day. Apat kami na nauna sa Saddle and it was quarter to 12 ng makapagtouch down kami sa Camp Site. Seriously, kaming apat (Me, Sir Rex, Sir Paul and Super Pulag (Sir Erb)) cut the timeframe into half. Ratrat indeed.... Settled our things and pitch na ng tent then wait for the other members. (Note: Walang water source sa Saddle, next water source is sa Ambangeg Camp Site) Umakyat kami sa summit ng mga 5:00pm para mawitness ang sunset and boom! ang dami ng tao sa summit, Hikers, photographers and mountaineers from Ambangeg Camp site ay andoon din..... wala kami masyado na witness ng sunset kasi biglang naging "foggy" ang weather, kalungkot..... then went down for Dinner. Marlboro Shots - Camp Site and WaterSource Mossy Forest Shots Grassland - Background na ang Summit Saddle - Camp Site The Summit............ The Sea of Clouds........... The Playground of the Gods Clap, clap, clap para sa group...... Kami kami padin, this time sobrang light na ng bag ko kaya akyat ulet ng summit para itraverse ang Ambangeg. Ang sabi nila Ambangeg Trail is like "Walking in the Park" ..... hmmm.. oo nga...hehehe kasi walang assault ang trail kaya medyo chill chill lang ang lakaran. Pero katakot ang nasabayan ko, I know niratrat namin ang Mossy Forest to Saddle pero this time.....
